The Prussian Expedition
After more than twenty years of war, Friedrich II is tired of fighting. He established Prussia as a Great Power within Europe, nearly doubled the acreage and acquired a peace treaty with the neighboring countries. Altogether that was much more than his predecessors achieved combined. But all these successes still did not satisfy him. The king yearned for more tribute, fame and stability. And so he was eager to push forward the biggest revolutions Prussia had ever seen. Friedrich allows the educational system be reformed, sponsors the arts and science all whilst engaging in earnest dialogue with the other European royal dynasties.

While the British, French and Spanish propagate their empires and connections dispersed throughout the globe, Fredrich persistently refuses to establish overseas colonies. In his eyes structuring the homeland was of far greater importance. However it became difficult to detract from his counselors urging as their arguments were too good and the benefits obvious. Still, Prussian interests in other parts of the world could jeopardize the hard-earned peace that Friedrich had achieved during the last few years. Finally one of his advisers, Johann Groß, a scholar and long-serving veteran of countless battles, proposed a solution to the problem. There were still sufficient isles that had not yet been claimed and were literally waiting to be explored. With this undertaking they could resolve two issues at the same time. Prussia would be able to install smaller enclaves throughout the world and exotic wares would not have to be purchased for extortionate prices from the Dutch and English. Additionally, Prussian scientists could gain new insights and ultimately these future explorations and resultant advances would increase the fame and reputation of Friedrich II’s reign.

After the initial plan was forged, the king’s strategists continued to further elaborate. They advised deploying small independent units as Friedrich had strong success using free battalions in past battles. These troops weren’t as disciplined as the regular Prussian army, but they had other qualities. They were skilled in adapting to new conditions, in improvising and using any small benefits to their advantage.
In a relatively short space of time, a few units have been recruited to the new Kolonial Korps – some of its soldiers having already served under Friedrich during the Seven Years War. Out of the Prussian arsenal, weapons and equipment were disposed to Hamburg and ships with associated crew were hired. With focused efficiency the king was able to create this new Kolonial Korps within just a few weeks, an undertaking other European powers would likely have required a number of years.
Ahoi expedition members!
Here it is! Our sixth and final faction for Isles of Terror - the Kolonial Korps.
We know some of you wished for another female faction but even though Isles of Terror is set in an alternative reality we felt it would be difficult to come up with a background for another female faction.
