Against the Odds Magazine investigates military history from a broad perspective.
The economic, political, religious and social aspects of warfare are examined in concert with events on the battlefield. Each issue features informative and insightful articles showcasing the history behind events, plus a challenging, fun war game with professional graphics. Steve Rawling, publisher of Against the Odds, has always loved maps and books, even as a child. When wargames came along, they became the perfect fusion of cartography and history for him and he's remained hooked ever since. His philosophy is that you cannot simply read history. Rather, actively doing history through the medium of games and simulations is to gain the deeper understanding.
